Composer, producer, performing artist Steve Reinthal - a brief bio

Steve's early career in music established him as a rock and soul session player, regularly working with some of Sydney's premier bands and artists. Determined to further expand his musical knowledge and technical abilities, Steve moved to L.A. to attend the prestigious Guitar Institute of Technology for twelve months, where he engaged in full-time studies in Professional Guitar.

Focusing on developing his own capacity for composing and specialising in finger-style acoustic guitar, Steve retired from session gigs and from working in cover bands, and secured casual employment in ABC Radio, where he quickly moved up through the ranks of music administration, distribution and co-production development. Steve moved into ABC D-Cart (Digital Broadcast), until seduced by ABC Music to step in as label manager, supervising and contracting the production of up to 60 CD releases a year. Recognising that his own musical development was constantly being back-burnered by the sheer volume of energy required to manage the Label, and profoundly inspired by Joseph Campbell to "Follow Your Bliss", Steve tendered his resignation and commenced a third chapter of exploration as a composer and producer in his own right.

Moving to Queensland in 1999,  Steve has since devoted his creative energies to working exclusively on original arts projects, composing music for theatre, film, his own CD releases, music collaborations, producing and co-producing with colleagues, teaching original music composition, exploring and refining his own gifts, and the talents of others. Much of the work produced by Steve in the last several years is showcased throughout this site. Steve has most recently completed a masters degree in media production and is currently engaged in sessional lecturing in sound design and audio production (Griffith Film School, QCA), and is constantly composing music for film.
